Enjoining Order refused, Rugby Tournament goes ahead

The District Court of Colombo yesterday refused an Enjoining Order sought by the CH and FC to prevent foreign players from featuring in the 2018/19 Interclub League Rugby Tournament.

CH and FC pursued legal recourse challenging the new rule implemented by Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) this season, allowing only the bottom four clubs to field foreign players.

The 2018/19 Inter-club season got underway last evening with two games played in Colombo.

The matter was fixed for Notice Returnable on the Defendants for December 10, 2018.
