Transferre­d government servants in dilemma

A Large number of government servants who have been transferre­d have faced a difficult situation due to change of ministries after Mahinda Rajapaksa was appointed as Prime Minister.

They have not been able to go on transfer due to some department­s of former ministries have been combined with other ministries.

For example, the government servants who had been given transfer orders to the Ministry of Higher Education and Cultural Affairs were unable to resume duties as there was no such ministry in existence. It was reported the government servants transferre­d to the Ministry of Public Administra­tion, Management and Law and Order were unable to

resume their duties as there was no such ministry. Thousands of Government Servants who had already received transfer orders by now were unable to resume duties at the stipulated ministries mentioned in their orders.

They were not allowed to resume duties by the ministries as their transfer orders did not indicate the name of new ministries, it is reported
