NAMAL KUMARA HOPES TO CONTEST POLLS ON SLPP TICKET

Anti-corruption Force Operations Director Namal Kumara said yesterday he hoped to contest the upcoming parliament­ary elections from the Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna (SLPP).

He told Daily Mirror that the people had asked him to contest the elections to make this country a better place.

“I revealed plenty of confidenti­al informatio­n to protect the President and the country. By revealing them I did expected nothing,” he said and added that he did not have the money to spend on his campaign and would meet Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to discuss how best to proceed.

“I do not want to enter Parliament through the national list but on the people’s votes.
