Wife’s lover stabbed by infuriated husband

An army deserter who fell in love with a married woman and took nude photos of their clandestine relations was severely injured after being stabbed with a sharp object by her husband in a fit of rage.

He was admitted to the Kalutara general hospital in Nagoda. Police, who launched an investigation into the woman’s complaint in this regard, submitted a report to Kalutara Actg. Magistrate Bandula Weerasinghe in this regard. The suspect was remanded till November 20.

However the woman, who could not bear the abuse any longer, had revealed the incident to her husband who waited for the person he employed to visit his home, assaulted him with a sharp weapon when he arrived. SI Karavita of the Welipenna police submitted the report in this regard to court.

Welipenna police are conducting further investigations to arrest the woman’s husband who was absconding.
