Salted Peanut Butter Cookies

-

If asked what my culinary preferences were, I would always opt for something salty and sour as opposed to sweet. My children of course will douse themselves with sugar if given the option. So keeping that in mind, I was pleasantly delighted to come across this wondrous cookie that tantalises all the tastebuds, sweet, sour and salty. Requiring minimum ingredients, it is an easy treat to put together at the spur of the moment, but still decadently wonderful to make the eater think that you have spent hours in the kitchen stirring bowls and whipping cream to make this a culinary success. So bring something salty and sweet into your life today and enjoy these salted peanut butter cookies.

Ingredients

1 cup chunky natural peanut butter 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1 egg 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 cup nutella salt, optional

Method

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment. Set aside.

2. In large bowl, stir peanut butter together with sugar, egg and vanilla until combined. Scoop onto prepared baking sheet using a ice-cream scoop. Bake 10 minutes, until cookies have slightly flattened and are not shiny. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Press thumb into the center of the warm cookie or use the back of a utensil to create an indentation. Spoon in 1/2 teaspoon nutella into hole and sprinkle with salt. Serve.
