Police arrest liquor smuggler in Batagama

A stock of foreign liquor smuggled to the country was seized and a suspect arrested by the Kandana police during a raid on a house at Batagama. Police said the trade value of the contraband was about Rs.500,000.

Investigations revealed that the suspect had been carrying on this illicit racket for some time.

A police personnel led by Kandana police OIC Chief Inspector Ajith Rohana Munasinghe and Sub Inspector Kulatilleka carried out the raid on the instructions of SSP Upali Jayasinghe.
