FREE MEDIA EQUIPMENT FOR PROVINCIAL JOURNALISTS

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency has provided media equipment to the Journalists following a request made by the Sri Lanka Muslim Media Forum (SLMMF). The handing over ceremony of media equipment was held at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute, Colombo 7 recently under the patron ship of Turkish Ambassador Tunca Ozcuhadac. 60 provincial Journalist were selected by an Independent group appointed by the SLMMF including North and East Journalists, 13 journalists received Laptops, 47 provincial journalists received Cameras worth Rupees one hundred thousand each.turkish Ambassador said, that Sri Lanka and Turkey had good relationships and they had extended their support to Tsunami victims in 2004. The ceremony was attended by former Ministers Faizer Musthapha, Imtiaz Bakeer Markar, NUA President Azath Sally, and members of the diplomatic corp of Iran, Palestinian, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
