Showers and thundershowers at times with very heavy falls of above 150mm can be expected in the Jaffna peninsula and heavy falls of above 100mm in other areas in the Northern Province today. Heavy showers or thundershowers and winds of 80-90kmph, gusting up to 110kmph, are expected over the coast extending from Mullaitivu to Mannar via Kankesanturai,” it said.
