Police hunt for businessman for issuing dud cheques

Police have initiated investigations to arrest a leading businessman in Medagama for issuing dishonoured cheques to settle bills amounting to Rs.2.8 million for purchase of poultry forage.

A wholesales merchant at Bakinigahawela in Medagama who deals with forage had made a complaint against the businessman that the cheques issued by him were dishonoured by banks and that the suspect ignored the request to settle the bills. Monaragala Police Crime Investigation Unit OIC C.G. Gunasekara is conducting investigations on the instructions of SP Jayantha Ratnayaka to arrest the suspect.
