Parachute Festival in Koggala

With the aim of providing the sportsmen and fun lovers, thrills and curiosity, a parachute festival and carnival is scheduled to be held at the Koggala Air Force premises from November 22 to December 4, organized by the Sky Dive Sri Lanka Institute.

Jumping from a height of 12000 feet above assisted by a Foreign Expert Trainer with the aid of a parachute is the highlight of this event and males and females above the age of eighteen could enter this feat after a medical examinatio­n and on the spot training, stated the Director of Operations of Sky Dive Sri Lanka, Asanka Vitharana.

The festival will be held under the fullest participat­ion of the Tourist Board, and would provide the enthusiast­ic and thrill loving youngsters a great opportunit­y to test their skills in a very thrilling and exciting venture. Vitharana is hopeful that this festival would boost investment in the tourist industry.

A modern Aircraft of G8 type would be used for Parachute diving and a large number of applicants have lodged in their applicatio­ns already.
