Sriyani Dress Point rewards student art competitio­n winners

The award ceremony of the art competitio­n organised by Sriyani Dress Point Kegalle to mark the World Children’s Day was held at Mahinda Rajapakshe Auditorium in Polgolla, recently with the winners being rewarded with valuable gifts and prizes.

There were thousands of participan­ts under six categories at this annual event, which has been very popular among students.

In a statement, Sriyani Dress Point Chairman M. Selvaraja insists that their main concern and objective of this grand annual event is to recognize the talents of students islandwide and they believe the students are the future leaders of our beloved country.

Winners of each category are: R.M.A. Rathnayake Indunil – Peradeniya Preschool, Kindergart­en Section, Navika Mandara Amarasingh­e – Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala of Grade 1-3 Section, N.M. Noojitha Bandara – Paranagama Primary School Paranagama of Grade 4-5 Section, W.M. Sathmi Walisundar­a – Girl’s High School, Kandy of Grade 6-8 Section, Udani Paranagama – Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy of Grade 9-11 Section and Poorna Methsara – Sripali School Horana of Grade 12-13 Section. There was a huge gathering at this grand award ceremony including winners, distinguis­hed guests, invitees, chief guests and management of Sriyani Dress Point.

In conclusion, M. Selvaraja said he and his staff would be highly satisfied with this annual event even though they spend a huge sum of money as the sole sponsor of this annual art competitio­n and vows to continue the event for the benefit of students.
