Give party leadership to Sajith: Matale Mayor Daljith Aluvihare

Mayor of the Unp-controlled Matale Municipal Council Daljith Aluvihare requested party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe to offer the party leadership to Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa to rescue the party from political chaos and lead it to electoral victories.

He said he is proud to be the Matale UNP Mayor as the second son of the Aluvihare family of Matale having links with the UNP for 78 years. His brother Ranjith Aluvihare and other brother Matale District Leader Vasantha Aluvihare remains loyal party members at this confused time of the party .

He has appealed to the party leader also considering the wishes of party supporters to offer the party leadership to Sajith Premadasa.

Stating services rendered by the pioneer leaders of the party such as D.S. Senanayaka by setting up farming colonies and other leaders Dudly Senanayaka and J.R Jayawardena’s period of services to the people and how they led the party to victories in the past. And how the people are served with Janasaviya and Udagam programme under then president R.premadasa’s period. He also said people are worried about the period after 1994 under Mr.wickremesinghe due to inability to win elections.he has also disclosed some reasons that led to present situation of the party.
