Ceylon Chamber holds Importer’s Ball at Water’s Edge

The imports section of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce held its annual flagship event for its members on October 19th.

A dinner dance was organized this year at the grand ballroom of the Water’s Edge, Battaramulla with the participation of around 350 industry leaders and top officials.

Import section Chairman Nishan Nanayakkara stated that the annual fellowship for the members was a much awaited event in the Association’s calendar and provided the opportunity for its members, their families and friends to relax and unwind amidst their busy schedules and also to gather at an evening of great entertainment.

The members were entertained by two of the most popular dance bands ‘The Gypsies’ and ‘Black’. Among a host of activities, there were also many prizes to be won and surprises on offer for all the participants.

Nanayakkara thanked the platinum sponsor and the strategic partner of the event, South Asia Gateway terminal (SAGT) and also the co-sponsors, namely, Pyramid Wilmar, Ferrero Lanka (PVT) Ltd., Multiform Chemicals (Pvt) Limited and the event’s travel partner Browns Tours who offered a return air ticket to Singapore. Whilst thanking the main sponsors and all those who contributed in numerous ways towards the success of this event, he was happy to note that the sponsors received much publicity and mileage by partnering the importer community at this gala event.
