PARENTING THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

-

Having children from the ages of fourteen to five in my household I am exposed to a range of behaviour. From the sassy older ones to the still adorable behaviour of the younger ones. In fact I find it a great pleasure after a busy work day to bask in the company of my five year old. Her watery tea parties, her adventurous tales of how she chased kitty through the garden or how naughty her nanny is, because she wasn't given chocolate, is like a breath of fresh air. I love the pure innocence of her chitter chatter. Of course the older ones are also enjoyable, but as they are growing up their own thoughts, ideas and wants are coming into the limelight. When they clash with my requirements as a parent, a certain amount of disciplining is necessary. My parenting thought for you this week is to cherish your children in whatever age they are, sometimes when troubled with demanding qualities of younger children, we repeat silent mantras of “we can't wait till they grow up”. But as they do grow up, a whole slew of oher more intricate problems are introuduced. So the beauty is to under stand that each phase when passed *to never return to again, enjoy your child, in each moment of life.
