Vasantha goes back to Cabinet meeting
Was at the Cabinet until meeting was over
Minister of Tourism and Wildlife Vasantha Senanayake, who earlier claimed that he was resigning from the Ministerial portfolio to join the Opposition, was present at yesterday’s Cabinet meeting, a Senior Minister said.
“He joined us with the Cabinet from the start and was there until the Cabinet discussion was over,” he said.
On October 29, UNP MP Senanayake was appointed as the Minister of Tourism and Wildlife and two days after his appointment, he assumed duties at the Ministry.
However, on November 11, Minister Senanayake told media in Parliament that he was going to resign from his Ministerial portfolio soon and would submit the resignation letter to the President.
At that time Minister Senanayake also told media that he would support whoever had the majority in Parliament since he could not work for people in his area for the last three years.
