Two more murder suspects arrested in Hanwella

Two more suspects taken into custody in connection with the murder of a young man Seelawansha Mudalige Tharaka Madusanka (22) at Jalthara play ground in Hanwella were produced before Homagama Magistrate and Addl.district Judge Udesh Ranatunga and remanded till November 30.

The young man had been shot and hacked to death allegedly by a gang and six suspects had been arrested earlier by Mirihana Police in connection with the incident and remanded. Police said the young man killed by the gang had been close confidante of the underworld gangster “Samayan” who was killed in a shooting in Kalutara and that a rivalry between two underworld gangs had resulted in the murder. A senior police official said the eight suspects on remand would be produced in court on November 30.
