SSC and Colts qualify for final

SSC and Colts CC qualified to play in the SLC Major Emerging League Cricket Tournament final when they won their respective semifinals on the first innings against Galle CC and Tamil Union worked off at the R. Premadasa Stadium and CCC Grounds in Maitland Crescent yesterday.

Galle CC were dismissed for 218 runs in reply to SSC’S first innings total of 246 despite half centuries from Kevin Kottegoda (62) and Harsha Vithana (55). Meanwhile, Vishad Randika hit a splendid unbeaten century as Colts CC overtook Tamil Union’s first innings score of 284 quite convincing­ly.

At R. Premadasa Stadium (1st innings win for SSC)

SSC: 246 and 178/5 (Kavindu Kulasekera
