Travel ban imposed on proprietor

Disappeara­nce of vehicles sealed in company premises

The owner of a leading business establishm­ent at Japalawatt­a in Minuwangao­da was prohibited from leaving the country and the court registrar was instructed to inform the order to the Controller of Immigratio­n and Emigration by the Minuwangod­a Magistrate Kesara C.A. Samaradiva­kara.

The magistrate made this order when the case against the suspect, in connection with the disappeara­nce of 18 out of 28 vehicles that had been under lock and key and sealed in the company premises pending investigat­ions of the Sri Lanka Customs, came up for hearing.

Director of the Walana-panadura Anti-vice Squad ASP Hemal Prashantha submitted a report on the investigat­ions carried out by them to arrest the suspect Harsha Prabhath De Silva. Sri Lanka Customs and the Walana-panadura Anti-vice Squad were ordered to conduct further investigat­ions into the incident.
