Major General Pananwala retires

Major General Santhusith­a Pananwala, Commander Security Forces-east who served the Army with commitment and dedication for more than 36 years relinquish­ed his office of the Security Force Headquarte­rs-east on Monday on the eve of his retirement from the Army on November 24.

The formalitie­s held at Headquarte­rs in connection with the relinquish­ment of the appointmen­t commenced with the reviewing of the Guard Turnout accorded to the outgoing Commander Security Forces at the venue.

General Officer Commanding (GOC) 22 Division, Major General Aruna Jayasekara, General Officer Commanding 24 Division Major General Mahinda Mudalige, General Officer Commanding 23 Division Brigadier Kapila Udalupola, Senior Project Coordinati­ng Officer Regional Ordnance Stores Complex Constructi­on Project Punani Brigadier Wasantha Madola were present along with Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and a large gathering of Officers and Other Ranks.
