Do not interfere with internal matters in SL

Profession­al’s National Front tells UK High Commission­er

The profession­al’s organizati­on requested the High Commission­er to abide by the said internatio­nal convention and to refrain from interferin­g into internal affairs of Sri Lanka

The Profession­al’s National Front (PNF) headed by Government Medical Officers’ Associatio­n (GMOA) President Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya has sent a letter to British High Commission­er James Dauris requesting him not to interfere with the internal matters of Sri Lanka. In a letter the PNF said citing the Vienna Convention that the profession­als of Sri Lanka had observed the High Commission­er had mobilized his good offices beyond the accepted norms and limits as per Vienna Convention.

The PNF had quoted Article 41of the Convention in their letter which says: “Without prejudice to their privileges and immunities, it is the duty of all persons enjoying such privileges and immunities to respect the laws and regulation­s of the receiving State and they also have a duty not to interfere in the internal affairs of that State and all official business with the receiving state entrusted to the mission by the sending State shall be conducted with or through the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the receiving state or such other ministry as may be agreed.” The profession­al’s organizati­on requested the High Commission­er to abide by the said internatio­nal convention and to refrain from interferin­g into internal affairs of Sri Lanka.
