Walk from Anuradhapura to Kataragama to obtain release of jailed war heros
A walk commenced from Ruwanveli Mahaseya on November 25 by a daughter of a jailed inmate together with five disabled war heroes to participate in the “Adhistana Pooja” in Kirivehera, Kataragama for the release of jailed war heroes.
Madushani Rajakaruna (23) the daughter of a war hero of the Intelligent Unit who is in jail and disabled war heroes Sampath Kumarawansa, R.W.V. Piyatissa, M.B.W. Kumara, Nishantha Mihiraj and Asela Dharmasiri joind the march which commenced from the Sacred City of Anuradapura.
They commenced their walk march yesterday (25) after performing religious rites at the Ruwanveli Mahaseya.
Organizer S. Sarath Senaviratna of this walk expressed that they have planned to walk to religious places such as the Temple of the tooth relic, Kelaniya, Kirinda, Kalutara and Dondra after performing religious rites and proceed to Kirivehera and hold the “Adhistana Pooja” and get the blessings to get the jailed war heroes released.
There are many war heroes who would join with us in this walk in between and our aim is to draw the kind attention of the President and the Prime Minister to get the war heroes released immediately.
Performs of religious rites were done by Maha Sanga including Deputy of Ramanghanikaya , Chief incumbent of Anuradhapura Purvaramaya Ven. Pothanegama Dammananda Thero.
