Two women drown in Pulichchakulama Udappuwa

Udappuwa Police said that two women drowned in Pulichchakulama Wewa in Udappuwa while they were having a bath on Saturday.

Those who died were two female siblings who are residents of Wellampitiya, Colombo. A mother of three children named Mohamed Faiz Fathima Sumaiya (25) and her younger sister named Mohamed Faiz Fathima Zakira(20) had died in the incident. It is said that Fathima Zakira has been engaged for marriage. The victims had visited their sick relative in the village and the entire group of eight women had gone for a bath in Pulichchakulama wewa. When one lady had drowned, other women had made an attempt to rescue her but six of them had been rescued admitted to Mundalama hospital. A team of police officers are investigating the incident with the direction of Udappuwa Police OIC B.g.c.r.g una til lake.
