MURDER OF 22 YO WOMAN: BOYFRIEND ARRESTED

Shiromi Priyadharshani (22), whose body was found near Sumeda Tank at Magandanamulla, Monaragala on Saturday morning, could have been murdered by her boyfriend, the Monaragala Police said.

The victim was a resident of Bad al ku mb ur a, we her a god a.

She had worked at a beauty parlour belonging to the sister of the suspect, as a beautician.

The suspect had already been arrested and was produced before the Monaragala Magistrate yesterday (25). The suspect is a resident of Raththanapitiya, Weliyaya, Monaragala.

“There was a heated argument between the suspect and the girl over another alleged relationship she was having.the boyfriend murdered her by strangling,” a Police officer said.

A group of youth in Magandanamulla village has videoed the incident and had released it on social media. Monaragala Police have commenced an investigation on that.

OIC, Chief Inspector Deshapriya of Monaragala Police is conducting investigations on the instructions of SP Sujith Wedamulla of Monaragala Division and SP Jayantha Rathnayaka.
