Saunders to meet Army in FA Cup final
Saunders Sports Club and Army Sports Club qualified to play in the FA Cup Football Tournament final when they won their respective semi-finals played at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo yesterday.
In the first semi-final, Army SC beat Police SC 1-0 thanks to an own goal from Dhanusha Perera in the 28th minute.
In the second semi-final, Saunders SC beat Colombo FC 2-0 with S. Niresh and Kasun Jayasooriya scoring a goal each in the second half.
This is the 20th occasion that Saunders SC have qualified for the final while Army SC will be making their fifth appearance in a FA Cup final.
The final of the FA Cup will be worked off on December 1 at the same venue.
