with Annesley for Shatter the Silence

Alive sing a-long with popular singer and entertaine­r Annesley Malawana was held at the Battaramul­la Ape Gama premises recently. The show was presented by the ‘Shatter the Silence’ charity organizati­on in aid of a series of community service projects. ‘Shatter the Silence’ is a non-profit organizati­on consisting of a group of passionate individual­s, seeking to demolish all things evil by representi­ng the vulnerable; acting as a voice for the voiceless. Its main focus is to recognize, counteract and ultimately diminish poverty, women and child abuse in the country, to make this nation free of cruelty; one step at a time, Ms. Shevon Fernando - the organisati­on’s livewire said. “A fund raiser project of the organizati­on will be held at the Colombo Food Festival on December 15 and 16 while special Christmas Carols will be held at the Badulla prisons on December 2. It will coincide with a programme aimed at assisting the families of prison inmates, with special focus on children’s educationa­l needs,” she said adding that their next big event will be held on March 29 with a grand sing along. Shevon Fernando thanked all members of the organizati­on, sponsors and well wishers for extending their fullest support towards these worthy causes.
