Lankan in India seeks information of parents

The Sri Lankan High Commission in India seeks information with regard to the parents of a 29-year-old Sri Lankan man known as ‘Joey’ who is currently detained at the Chanakyapuri Police Station in India.

Police said the man had requested the High Commission office to grant approval to travel to Sri Lanka to find his parents.

They said the man had told the officials that he was brought to India by an uncle of his at the age of five from Sri Lanka.

According to his statement, Joey was living at a house outside a Catholic Church in Colombo and his father was know as ‘Billu’ who was a fisherman and his mother as ‘Manngo’.

Police also released a picture of Joey who is seeking information of his parents residing in Sri Lanka. Police requested the public to inform the Organized Crimes Division via 0112 - 2451397 or Crimes and Organized Crimes Division’s DIG office via 0112 - 2432457 if they have information in this regard.
