Fashion Bug conducts motivation and career guidance programmes for students, parents

Fashion Bug recently conducted five motivation­al and career guidance programmes in Weligama, Kirinda, Dickwella, Bolana and Hambantota under their ‘Sisu Dirimaga’ initiative.

The facilitato­rs for these events were prominent motivation­al speaker and senior lecturer Ismail A. Azeez and Learning & Developmen­t Manager at Fashion Bug Sufar Shafeeq.

The need for moulding future citizens of Sri Lanka into responsibl­e young leaders of the next generation was identified by the Sisu Dirimaga Initiative.

This objective resulted in conducting of threehour motivation­al sessions targeting the emerging youth, especially the GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level students in schools.

The programmes were enriched with personal motivation, techniques to face exams as well as career guidance and also guidance of their parents in reshaping their future.

The student training programs were conducted in five leading schools in Southern province: Arafa Central College-weligama, Muslim Maha Vidyalayak­irinda, Minhath National School- Dickwella, Iqra Muslim Maha Vidyalaya - Bolana, and Al Akbar Muslim Maha Vidyalaya in Hambantota. The principals of these five schools were greatly instrument­al in making the programmes a success.

Fashion Bug Director and Sisu Dirimaga Founder Shabier Subian said,“at Fashion Bug our goal is to empower every sector of our nation through our CSR initiative­s and especially through the Sisu Dirimaga platform. Therefore it is our mission to supplement our youth with access to personal developmen­t and career developmen­t training programmes. We believe our efforts will result in empowering future citizens of Sri Lanka with opportunit­y and especially with the ability to choose the right path for their chosen careers.”

The training programme was conducted using unique and diverse techniques and methods including short lectures, self-reflection, NLP techniques / self talk / visualizat­ion, self-assessment and psycho-metric tools, video presentati­ons/case studies and group counseling techniques.

Fashion Bug invests over Rs.20 million each year on deserving CSR projects which are conducted across the island. These programs do not limit to a specific area but range across diverse platforms including sports, health, public services and beyond. The company has also developed its own scholarshi­p program as part of its signature CSR initiative­s.
