Banana thief caught while having last hurrah

A man who was known to pluck plantains off trees belonging to other people was taken into custody while attending a political rally in Kandy yesterday.

The suspect had been conducting his nefarious activities in the Ankelipitiya and Moragolla areas. The Police having received many complaints against the suspect were on the lookout and at last got their man in the most unexpected manner. The suspect was scheduled to be produced before a magistrate.

He was arrested by SI Lokubanda supported by a police team on the instructions of OIC Thalathuoya IP Aruna Krishantha.
