Ava Group Leader Ashok Kumar surrenders

Ava Group Leader Ashok Kumar alias Mohan Ashok surrendered to the Mallakam Magistrate’s Court, Jaffna Police said yesterday.

He was remanded till December 12 by Magistrate A Alexrajah thereafter.

Ashok Kumar was on the government’s wanted list charged with injuring a person with a sharp weapon as well as damaging house and property. He had been able to evade arrest for quite some time by moving from place to place making it tough for law enforcement officers to catch up with him.

He surrendered accompanied by a lawyer.
