Unidentified body found

An unidentified body lying by the roadside near the Hudson Children’s Park was recovered by the Panadura South Police. The deceased was about 70-years-old and 5ft tall and fair complexioned.

Police said they received information that he had arrived there by trishaw several days ago and was staying by the roadside. Residents of the area said their attempt to dispatch the body to hospital by an ambulance failed.

The body was handed over to the Panadura hospital mortuary pending further investigations. PC 39951 Pushpakumara is conducting further investigations on the instructions of HQI Thushara Indika De Silva.
