SPRINGSTEEN ON BROADWAY
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN OFFICIAL TRAILER FOR
Netflix has released the first trailer for their new special Springsteen On Broadway,
which debuts December 16 on the streaming service. That date is just one day after Bruce Springsteen,
69, wraps up his epic 236-performance run of his Broadway show of the same name at Jujamcyn’s Walter Kerr Theatre.
In the trailer, he talks lovingly of his wife Patti Scialfa, 64, who he has been married to since 1991. This red head shows up,' he begins, clearly still smitten with the musician.
He then praises her and adds she is 'tough but fragile.' 'This is what you build together,' he continues as he references their life with kids. This is my magic trick,' he begins in the trailer as he stands on stage in a black T-shirt.
He says his father was his 'hero' and his 'greatest foe' as he seems relieved to open up to the crowd. 'Mom was a different story all together... kindness... She made me understand for the first time to feel pride in somebody you love.'
The one-man show opened in October 2017, initially slated to close in November 2017, but the show was extended three times due to an exceedingly high demand for tickets, and other issues with scalpers.
While the two-hour Broadway performance is largely a one-man show, most of his performances feature appearances with his wife, Patti Scialfa, who he's been married to since 1991.
The show features 15 of The Boss' classic songs, including Born In The U.S.A., Born To Run, Dancin' In The Dark and My Hometown, which are interspersed with personal stories he tells from his 2016 autobiography, also titled Born to Run.
The show was honoured with a special Tony Award in June, with Springsteen not only making a rare TV appearance to accept the award, but to perform as well.
