MOTION CURTAILING FUNDS TO PM’S OFFICE PASSED
Parliament yesterday approved a motion to prevent the Finance Ministry Secretary from approving any expenditure drawn from the funds of the republic to meet expenses of the Prime Minister’s office.
All 123 MPS present in the House including the UNP, JVP and TNA voted for it. No one voted against it owing to the fact as government members had decided to boycott sessions. Government Member Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe and Independent Member Venerable Atureliye Ratana Thera who participated in yesterday’s sessions left the chambers during the time of voting.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya announced that the motion was duly passed.
