87 % of school text books distributed: Ministry

Eighty seven percent of the text books for the year 2019 had been distributed to all schools and Pirivenas around the country, the Education Ministry said yesterday.

It said 39.4 million text books have already been sent for printing and the remaining 13% would be sent to schools before the end of the third term.

The message and a photo of the former education Minister were included in all text books and no measures had been taken to halt printing and distribution of text books for schools.

The are to be distributed without making any changes, the Ministry said.
