PCOI probing Srilankan Airlines to be extended its period: Sources

The term of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCOI) probing irregularities at Srilankan Airlines, Srilankan Catering and Mihin Lanka is likely to be extended by a period of another three months, sources close to it said yesterday. It will be the second extension of term limit if granted. The last extension was granted in August this year.

Commission’s Chairman Justice Anil Goonaratne said that the Commissioners requested the Presidential Secretariat in writing for an extension of its tenure ten days ago, but there have been no response so far.

The sources said the Presidential Secretariat decided to extend the period of the PCOI .
