We’re doing our best to resolve current crisis: TNA
We only want to revert to the status quo prior to October 26 and will never become a part of the UNP government
TNA MP M.A. Sumanthiran said yesterday the TNA was only doing its best to resolve the current constitutional crisis by supporting an MP nominated by the UNP for the post of Prime Minister and thus revert to the status quo prior to October 26. “We only want to revert to the status quo prior to October 26 and will never become a part of the UNP government,” he said.
Mr. Sumanthiran clarified his party’s stance in all three languages which seemed to be a rare occurrence in the House as far as a TNA MP was concerned.
Meanwhile, he condemned the killing of the two policemen in the East and pointed out that EPDP cardres were known to be appearing in the North lately. “A certain member of Parliament who claims to be a minister has stated that he is once again back in action in the North,” he said.
