Teacher charged with molesting elevenyear-old girl

A teacher of a national school in the Badalkumbura area was arrested by the Badalkumbura police on suspicion of attempting to sexually harass an eleven-year-old girl. The 59-year-old teacher had allegedly taken the student to a classroom when she came to school in the morning and molested her. Police said the victim was referred to the Monaragala hospital for a medical examination and that the suspect was to be produced before the Monaragala magistrate last morning.

OIC Badalkumbura Police IP Janaka Ratnasiri was conducting further investigations.
