Man who stabbed wife commits suicide

An individual, who stabbed his wife causing her serious injuries,had jumped into the Huluganga in Oruthota and committed suicide. His body was later recovered by the Theldeniya police. The deceased Manjula Kumara Ekanayake (39) was a resident of Gangasirigama in Oruthota and a father of two. His wife was admitted to the Theldeniya District Hospital and was later transferred to the Kandy General Hospital in a critical condition. Investigations revealed that the woman had been employed abroad and had just returned and that a family dispute had resulted in the tragic incident.
