FINALS OF DIALOG PRESIDENT’S GOLD CUP VB ON DECEMBER 15

The finals of the Dialog President’ Gold Cup Volleyball Tournament will take place on December 15 at the National Youth Service Council Courts (NYSC), Maharagama. The tournament is being conducted by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation. Over 2,500 teams will be taking part in the tournament under two categories: Open (men and women), Under-22 (men and women)

Balaras Sports Club, Colombo and Siyanathar­u Sports Club, Gampaha have qualified for the Open Men’s Finals. In the semi-finals Balaras SC beat Debagama Ran Tharu SC Kegalle by three sets to one. Siyanathar­u SC beat Ramiz Travels SC Anamaduwa three-nil to qualify for the finals. Ramiz Travels SC came in third place.

Casualline Sports Club Kurunegala and Wijeya Sports Club Koswadiya qualified for the finals of the Open Women’s category. In the first semifinal Casualline SC beat Radhawana

Golden Birds SC by three sets to nil. In the second semi-final Wijeya SC beat Kapila SC Siyambalag­oda three-nil. Golden Birds took third place.

Rajasinghe Sports Club Ruwanwella and Dhamissara Spots Club Nattandiya qualified for the Under-23 men’s finals. In the first semi-final Rajasinghe SC

beat Davisammar­a SC Seeduwa three nil. In the second semi-final Dhamissara SC beat Wijeba SC Hungama three-nil. Daisamara SC took third place.

Rathanapal­a Sports Club Mahauswewa and Alamona Sports Club Kegalle qualified for the Under-22 women’s finals. In the first semi-final Rathanapal­a SC beat Dharmapala SC Eheliyagod­a by three sets to nil. In the second semifinal Alamona SC beat Wijeba SC to qualify for the finals. The third place was obtained by Wijeba SC Hungama.

The winning teams will receive cash awards of Rs. 100,000 each and special awards will be given to the best performanc­es.
