Rain spoils ‘B’ final

Bad light and rain spoiled the ‘B’ Division final of the CHA 9-a-side Hockey Tournament between the Old Royal Hockey Club and the Old Anandian Hockey Club at the CH and FC ground.

Play was possible only in the first half of the game and no side had put a score on their sheet.

Thereby both sides were declared joint champions.

In the Men’s ‘A’ Final, a solitary field goal by Abeetha Fernando gave BRC a 1-0 win over Gymkhana SC.

In the Women’s final a goal by J. Kaluarachchi in the 13th minute and another by B. Gunarathne also a field goal enabled Malay SC to beat Colts 2-0. (BM)
