Assailant carries out knife attack on sleeping man

The Hiniduma Police said that a suspect who entered a house in the Malgalla area in Thalangalla had assaulted an inmate of the house who was asleep at that time with a sharp knife causing grievous injuries before fleeing from there. Police investigations revealed that when the owner of the house was fast asleep on last Friday evening, the alleged assassin who entered the house had assaulted the sleeping person with a sharp knife causing injuries to his leg and fled the scene.

The victim had been admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital. The Hiniduma Police are investigating the incident.
