Cyclist dies run over by lorry

A severely injured cyclist admitted to the Chilaw District Hospital after being run over by a lorry on the Chilaw Puttalam Road in Mundalama on Saturday succumbed to his injuries, according to Mundalama Police. The injured person first admitted to the Mundalama Hospital was subsequently transferred to the Chilaw Hospital for further treatment.the deceased was identified as Matarasiri Liyanage Rapiel Perera, a father of four children and was a resident in Eksathgama Mundalama.

He was knocked down while riding the bicycle towards Chilaw by the lorry heading in the same direction, it was revealed.
