Govt. decides to suspend Singapore Trade Agreement
The Government has decided to implement a New National Trade Policy suspending the Singapore Trade Agreement.
Minister Bandula Gunawardena said that the representatives will be appointed including Local Entrepreneurs, the Government Sector and the Private Sector for a special committee to implement that Trade Policy.
The Minister further said that Singapore Trade Agreement had been implemented without the approval of Parliament and on the requirement of a few individuals, out of the conventions of World Trade Organization.
There had been a number of protests in that regard, he said.
