UNF decides on forming a leadership council
Having a leadership council in order make important decisions
United National Front (UNF) decided to form a leadership council to make important decisions in the event it forms a government with other allies, a prominent leader in the alliance said yesterday.
President Maithripala Sirisena is still seemed adamant on appointing UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Prime Minister and therefore we have thought of having a leadership council in order to make important decisions in the event we form a government as a way out of the deadlock
Meanwhile, another UNF ally MP Mano Ganesan had mentioned in his Facebook post that UNF is ready for a general election under the legal government but would like to have a presidential election as well in January.
This leader who did not wish to be named told Daily Mirror that they have decided on having a leadership council as a means of ending the deal lock with regard to the political crisis in the country.
