‘Yukthiye Yathrawa’ avoids Kataragama Devalaya

Many of those who participated in ‘ Yukthiye Yathrawa’ or the vehicle parade organized by the United National Party (UNP) avoided visiting Kataragama Devale after reaching Tissamaharama town despite it being kept open for long hours to receive them. Instead of reaching Kataragama, they had taken a detour to Wellawaya.

Kataragama Devalaya had been kept open for more time and closed. At about 2.30 p.m., Hambantota District Parliamentarian Dilip Wedaarachchi and Badulla District Parliamentarian Vadivel Suresh arrived in the temple premises. They offered fruits and sought divine help. Afterwards, they sought blessings at Sri Abhinavarama temple in Kuda Kataragama Devalaya and left.
