Fairfirst Insurance introduces a la carte insurance

Redefining how insurance is underwritt­en, Fairfirst has taken a bold step towards introducin­g Sri Lankans to a la carte insurance. Although still at its infancy, insurers are now rethinking how to stay relevant to the evolving customer of today.

In a restaurant a la carte refers to the practice of ordering individual dishes from a menu, as opposed to settling in for a set menu. Fusing the two elements of insurance and a la carte is Fairfirst Insurance Online Shop. Here, customers choose from a menu of insurance solutions and decide what they want to go for and how much to pay for it.

While the Online Shop offers the standard policies like the comprehens­ive motor cover and the third party insurance cover, what’s truly remarkable is the Make Your Own Policy option that takes customizab­ility to a whole new level. For instance, one can choose to insure just different segments of their vehicle such as the rear end or the sides. Basically the possibilit­ies are seamless.

Fairfirst initially began with a soft launch of the Online Shop back in April and at present offers motor, motorbike and pet insurance solutions. The platform will continue to be augmented with more groundbrea­king product propositio­ns being introduced in the months to come.
