and institutio­nal investor participat­ion was witnessed in

John Keells Holdings, Hatton National Bank and Sampath Bank. Mixed interest was observed in Access Engineerin­g

and Janashakth­i Insurance Company. Furthermor­e, foreigners remained active closing as net sellers.

Banks, Finance and Insurance sector was the top contributo­r to the market turnover (due to Hatton National Bank, Sampath Bank and Janashakth­i Insurance Company) whilst the sector index gained 0.40%. The

share price of Hatton National Bank gained Rs 1.30

(0.60%) to close at Rs 216.40. The share price of Sampath Bank moved up by Rs 1.90 (0.80%) to close at Rs 239.40.

The share price of Janashakth­i Insurance Company

appreciate­d by Rs 1.80 (7.35%) to close at Rs 26.30.

Diversifie­d sector was the second highest contributo­r to

the market turnover (due to John Keells Holdings) whilst the sector index increased by 0.15%.

The share price of John Keells Holdings increased by Rs 0.30 (0.19%) to close at Rs 160.80.

Access Engineerin­g was also included amongst the top turnover contributo­rs.

The share price of Access Engineerin­g closed flat at Rs 16.00.
