Junior Chamber Internatio­nal Colombo completes 61 years

Junior Chamber Internatio­nal Colombo (JCI Colombo), which is a chapter well known around the world for its rich history and legacy, completed 61 years of existence.

During the year, JCI Colombo embarked on some noteworthy activities. The highlights of the year comprised the annual general meeting, which took place at the Royal College Union Skills Centre in Colombo among others.

JCI Colombo has also conducted an orientatio­n programme for potential members as well as the Local Officer Training Academy (LOTA), also at the same venue. Among the many charitable engagement­s that the JCI gets involved in, a collection of rations were donated to flood victims through the JCI Colombo Secretaria­t.

The Colombo secretaria­t also conducted an Ifthar programme. A multi-chapter meeting for the visit by JCI Internatio­nal Vice President Sen. Amzad Hussain as well as JCI Executive Vice President Jc. Jennifer Gracey on another date were also held at the Olympic House, Colombo.

JCI Colombo was also part of the organising committee for the ‘Ten Outstandin­g Young Persons’ (TOYP) awards ceremony, which was conducted successful­ly this year at Cinnamon Lakeside.

The JCI Colombo National Convention was also held at Olympic House – Colombo, which provided an added highlight to the list of many such engagement­s that took place recently.
