Explosives, weapons recovered from two areas

Several explosives and weapons had been recovered by the army in the Horowpothana and Nelumwila areas on Monday, an Army source said.

Accordingly, two 40 mm grenade launcher bombs, three hand grenades, forty-seven electric detonators, one 82 mm fuse, 358 rounds of Multi Purpose Machine Guns (MPMG) ammunition, 695 rounds of T-56 ammunition, 80 metres detonating cord and two Light Machine Gun (LMG) drums were recovered by the army.

The Army said one T-56 magazine, four T-56 weapon parts, one 12 bore barrel, 100 rounds of Light Machine Gun (LMG) ammunition, two sets of unidentified ammunition and one anti-personnel mine were also recovered.
