NEW MENU AT IKOI TEI

-

The Colombo Hilton invited friends from the media to taste their new menu at IKOI TEI, their Japanese restaurant at The Dutch Hospital. The Japanese chef Hikaru Tkahashi who has been involved with the restaurant since its inception described each dish to us as it was presented in both English and fluent Sinhala.

As is the custom with Japanese food, each dish was a masterpiece in artistry and in taste. Salmon and Tuna were there in infinite variety through the starters, sushi, shasmi, used with caviar, several dishes with shellfish. I loved the Teriyaki Chicken, it was tender and flavoursome, and dainty desserts in fruity and green tea flavours. Japanese green tea was served at the end. We had fun, some had heard of our laughing gang, but I said ranks were closed at15 members. One vivacious girl however lost interest when she heard it was only for ladies!
