Dambulla Women in thrilling win

Dambulla recorded a thrilling one-wicket win over Kandy with four balls to spare in their Women’s Super Provincial Cricket Tournament encounter played at the CMCC Grounds in Katunayake yesterday.

Kandy taking first lease of the wicket made a modest score of 155 and Dambulla reached their target in 49.1 overs.

Meanwhile, the match between Colombo and Galle which was scheduled to be played yesterday was called off due to a wet outfield at Thurstan College Grounds.

Kandy Women: 155 in 46.6 overs (Nipuni Hansika 31, Maduri Samudika 23, Sripali Weerakkody 36 n.o, Kavisha Dilhan 3/27, Chamari Atapattu 3/45)

Dambulla Women: 158/9 in 49.2 overs (Chamari Atapattu 30, Jimanjali Wijenayake 23, Kavisha Dilhari 22, Umesh Dimashane 42 n.o,tharika Sewwandi 3/42, Inoka Ranaweera 3/12, Sripali Weerakkody 2/20).
